Coven of Tongues is a food art collective of three women exploring culinary ecologies, fermentation, performance, and cross-cultural storytelling.
The name reflects both the diversity of our native tongues and our shared rituals of taste, transformation, and care — a collaboration sparked during our meeting at Cove Park.
Aslı Hatipoğlu (TR/TH), Heidi Hornáčková (CZ) and Suraia Abud Coaik (LB/UY) will be joined by Violaine Barrois (FR), local scientist and historians to present:
DATE | August 16, 2025 from 15:00 TO 19:00
ON SPOT | 100 Kč participation fee
Co:produced by Live Performance Bazaar & Rezi.dance Komařice.
This site-specific performative culinary intervention is shaped by dialogue with the land, its residents, the archaeobotanists, guests, as well as yeasts and bacterias of the local and foreign terroirs. The Coven of Tongues artist collective will share their findings from a week-long residency at Rezi.dance (where the kitchen used to be family owned yoghurt manufacturer). From sensorial archives, ephemeral installations, food stories and scientific input, the collective will engage the audience in a sensorial tour along the landscape.
As part of the performative sensorial tour, the audience is invited to unearth a vessel buried during the previous winter—a container of living, fermented foods. This excavation will become a seasonal ritual that links bodies, landscapes, and microbial life. The conversational edible set-up will invite guests to reflect on memory, transformation, and the often invisible labor of preservation through the act of making and dining together.
