UPDATE: Due to the extreme heat, the publication launch event has been postponed to Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at the Scout Institute on Old Town Square. Cold drinks will be served.
This Monday, June 29, as part of the NATURE OF US program, we will host a presentation and launch of a new publication in Czech and English that explores the approaches of dance and performance makers from our broader European region who reflect on the natural sciences in their work. You can download the publication in English here.
The international NATURE OF US project brings together artists, natural scientists, and cultural organizations to collectively reflect on our relationship with nature and inspire new perspectives on ecological issues, including the challenges associated with climate change and biodiversity loss. https://natureofus.art/
The project, currently running from 2024 to 2026, has created opportunities for dialogue and collaboration between the natural sciences and contemporary theatre arts through mobility and residency programs, workshops, the development of new methodologies, and expert meetings.
At this NATURE OF US CLUBS event, dramaturg, author, and cultural organizer Ewan McLaren will give a presentation in Czech on the works and approaches discussed in the publication LANDSCAPES AND WATERSCAPES IN MOTION: APPROACHES IN CENTRAL AND EAST EUROPEAN CONTEMPORARY PERFORMING ARTS IN RELATION TO THE ENVIRONMENT. We warmly invite everyone interested in how contemporary dance, performance, and art can be used to address our environmental challenges or to envision different futures.
NATURE OF US is a joint project of organizations dedicated to the performing arts in Central Europe: Live Performance Bazaar (Czech Republic), Polka dot Foundation (Poland), PlaST Contemporary Dance Platform (Slovakia), and Workshop Foundation (Hungary), building relationships with academic and institutional partners.
The NATURE OF US 2024–2026 project is co-funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe program.
